Hunt County Veteran's Memorial in Greeneville, Texas
Edit: aaaaaaaaah. Interessant:
Born dirt-poor to East Texas sharecroppers, Audie Murphy was an unlikely war hero. He was a teen of small stature who dropped out of school to work in the cotton fields.
But his legacy is larger than life. He became the most decorated soldier of World War II, a movie star in the '50s and '60s, a poet and songwriter.
On Saturday, Hunt County residents dedicated a statue in honor of their most famous son, who died at age 46 in a plane crash and was buried with full honors in Arlington Cemetery.
