Ice-hockey is not that popular in germany. Soccer, handball, basketball, formula 1 or wintersport are more popular here.
(this is the german league for ice-hockey. http://www.del.org/)

Just visit a german sportside before you say that germany has nothing but soccer.

Switzerland has one of the best hockey leagues in Europe. The German league is just mediocre, they can only play soccer and women's soccer. ^ ^
