The concept of "smurfing" is when a user is playing with more than one account on the ranked ladder in order to gain/sustain high ranking with multiple accounts and thus prevent other users from advancing and being recognized. This inhibits fair play and is considered unsportsmanlike conduct and abuse of our online account and ranking system. This type of action can get your ladder accounts rank reset.
We do understand players like to use multiple accounts for practicing. We do not condone this practice, but we strongly recommend if you choose to practice with another account on the ranked ladder, do so extremely infrequently. We focus our efforts on the Top 500 players and more so the top 200 and 100. This is where multiple accounts start to impact critical rankings. You are advised to use one ladder account and stay clear of this top ranking range if you risk using multiple.
