What is Zero Hour all about?
"Zero Hour" is an expansion pack for C&C Generals, adding new units, structures, missions and features.
Will there be a beta test or Multi-player test?
Due to time constraints, there are no plans to have a beta test or MPT.
Do I need Generals in order to play?
Yes. As Zero Hour is only an expansion pack and not a stand-alone title, it requires all the data from Generals.
Does that mean the requirements are the same?
Yes, the same requirements are needed for Zero Hour as they are Generals. Click here to see the system requirements.
Who's the Developer now?
Electronic Arts Los Angeles (EALA) is developing Generals. The team is led by Harvard Bonin.
When is the release date?
The rough estimate is "fall 2003".
How much will it cost?
As it's an expansion pack, a reasonable estimate would be around £20 or $33.
Where's the Official Website?
Currently the only Official Website is located here. It is a temporary site and a full version is yet to be finished.

There are 15 new missions, 5 for each side.
Is there a proper storyline this time?
Chris "Delphi" Rubyor enthusiastically said the following when asked "will there be a storyline?" in the #cnc chatroom:
[18:25] YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
[18:26] [Delphi-EA] =)
And recently in a video interview with Harvard Bonin, he gave the following information (direct transcript): " The USA [storyline] is the hunt for Weapons of Mass Destruction and going after Dr Thrax; GLA are gathering splinter cells back into a cohesive whole, aiming to force the USA out of the Mediterranean, out of Europe altogether. China are looking to be a world superpower, forming a large Eurasian organisation with Europe much like NATO."
Will there be acted cutscenes?
All cutscenes are made with the SAGE engine, there won't be any acted scenes. However, the scenes are put together by the same person who worked on the action scenes seen in "Armageddon" and "Pear Harbour", so expect quality.
Are there any new Battle Honours?
New Battle Honours are said to be included, but no details have yet emerged.
Will we get new maps to skirmish on?
25 new maps are included in Zero Hour.
Is there a new game mode to play in, other than Skirmish?
The "Generals Challenge" mode allows you to fight against the Generals of each side as one of 6 Generals available (2 for each side), and once you beat them, you can play as those Generals online.

MULTIPLAYER
Are there any new game modes?
It is unclear whether modes like "Meat Grinder" will make it into the online system.
Will there be a ladder?
The Official Ladder - Cases - will undoubtedly support Zero Hour, but a Ladder Kit should be available to allow fans to create their own ladders for it.
Will it be possible to play it through GameSpy Arcade?
While Generals is powered from GameSpy, the interface (GOL) is used to chat and connect to games. As Generals wasn't supported in this way, it is unlikely Zero Hour will be either.
Do we have co-operative missions now?
Nothing has been mentioned of online co-operative missions.
Are there any official competitions or events being planned, like EA vs The World?
Sadly, again, nothing has been heard. Unofficial tournaments are often being organised, however, and are just as fun to participate in and many offer prizes.
How many new maps are there?
25.

Logically, we can assume infantry and vehicles will move slower in wet conditions and take longer to stop, but specific details are not yet available.

Naval units aren't usable online, but in the SinglePlayer missions, they are. Destroyers can attack land targets, and Aircraftcarriers can unleash 20 fighters on your command.
Have there been any changes to salvaging?
The development team liked the salvaging feature so much, they decided to let the GLA make more use of it. Structures can also be strengthened with scrap now.

Indeed they have - fans of other RTS games will now have the option to adopt the right-click method seen in many of those games.
Are there any new hotkeys?
None have been announced, but considering a very large and active topic started by Col. Burt had many replies for hotkeys, it is certainly a possibility.
