Christophe “nami” Heinen
1st place WCG National Finals, Luxembourg
5-8th place, WCG Grand Finals 2007
12th place ESL Pro Series
Hey, what’s up? Can you first tell me your first/last name, your in game ID, and where you are from?
Christophe Heinen, I usually use the nickname nami, but I qualified with morgainelefay. I am born in South Corea, I am Luxemburgian and I am currently studying in Germany.
Holy crap, that's a lot of nationalities. So how much ass do you expect to kick this Saturday?
I think that it is better to enter such a competition with a positive attitude. It makes you play faster, play better, play calmer. So I am expecting to pass on to the next round.
I feel confident.
And are you happy with the brackets?
It is hard to say. After all, most of those earned their spot in this tournament. I think that anyone can win if he has a lucky map and build order choice. I don’t think that my bracket is that difficult. If I want to get a shot at the 5k, I just have to make it. My group is definitely easier than most.
Who do you feel is the strongest player in your group?
I don't think I can give a neutral judgment on that question. It has been at least two months since I played against any of them, and I have no idea how much they trained during the last few weeks, so I simply don't know who is the strongest.
Is there anyone you are particularly worried about?
Yes, there is. As I said before, I try to enter every game with a positive attitude. But I don't like to face Dackel. I used to train a lot with him, as we are in the same team, and somehow I seem unable to beat him. I make the most stupid mistakes, and I lose even if I get a huge advantage. Therefore I feel like I am going to lose before our games even start, and that is always the worst way to enter a game. If you don't believe in yourself, you will lose. But if I should face him (Dackel), it would be the final game, so maybe I hope to face him this time as I would be second.
That's true; confidence is a good thing to have in a tournament like this. Do you think your training with Dackel will help you to win?
It helps. But I think the most important thing is confidence. Every player should be in good shape, should have trained and know the latest build orders. So it comes down to making no mistakes, fast thinking, and being focused.
How big of a factor do you think luck will play in the outcome?
Luck is always involved. In every competition. Maybe, luck is a bigger factor in C&C than in other computer games. But just have a look at the last tournaments. There are always the same people who dominate, who are in the first ranks. It can't be luck only. Only sore losers blame luck.
Do you like chicken wings?
Well, usually the chickens run away when I get too close, so I never got to examine them, but they look nice from far away. Kinda useless, but they fit the chickens well.
There is a rumor going around that people who eat a lot of chicken wings tend to be better C&C3 players. Can you confirm or deny this?
Hahaha, I never heard of that rumor, but I know for a fact that Dackel eats chicken wings.
So does Khufu. Coincidence? You be the judge.
Well, as I feel sorry for the poor chickens when 50000 C&C3 players would storm McDonalds, I need to say coincidence. It is my duty.
McDonald's doesn't sell chicken wings, do they?
And I don't think there are 50,000 C&C3 players either as much as that would please EA.
They do! At least in Europe, that is the place where Dackel gets a lot of chicken wings.
Xtrapas counted 50,000 accounts during the last 3 weeks.
That's really weird, I never heard of that before. Here they just sell burgers and fries and a bunch of bullcrap.
Yea, but everyone knows Xtrapas is a liar and a cheat. I should wrap this up though, because I have some chicken wings to eat.
I was surprised myself, but it could be possible.
Any last words for all of your loving and devoted fans?
I want to thank our sponsors, MSI, OCZ, gammax and I would like to say hi to Dackel, -dai, atomic, Mryuri, and of course all the OKTRON members and all the poor chickens aka future chicken wings!
Okay, sweet, good luck in the tournament!
