Earlier tonight while commuting to his hotel room from a recording studio in Detroit, MI, the world famous rapper Eminem collided head on with another vehicle and lost his life as well as killing the two passengers of the other car. Eminem's producer said he had been drinking earlier that day and medical examiners say that is most likely the cause for the wreck. "Everyone is distraught about this," says his producer, "especially his family, they're heartbroken." Millions of fans across America and the world are mourning the dead rapper and thousands are expected to attend funeral services Friday in New York. Witnesses say his body was a mangled and grotesque and there was very little left of his car after it caught fire due to the gas tank exploding. Eminem was working on a new solo album which he said, "would sound like some of my original tracks." His first album was Infinty released in 1995. Triumphing over hate by using his music and starring in a major motion picture, 8 Mile, he has become one of the most popular people on Earth and he will be sorely missed. Expect many services in major cities around the U.S. over the next week. —Jon Wiederhorn, with additional reporting by MTV
