Die beiden alternativen Enden wirds wohl nur auf DVD geben, ich quote mal die englische wiki dazu:

Director Mikael Håfström has stated that the ending for 1408 was reshot because test audiences felt that the original ending was too much of a "downer".

One alternate ending sees the backdraft engulfing the room as Mike hides under the bed, happy to see the room destroyed as he dies. Olin later approaches Lily and Mike's agent at his funeral, where he unsuccessfully attempts to give back a box of Mike's possessions and his tape recorder. Olin listens to the recording in his car, hearing Katie's voice on the tape and catches a quick glimpse of a horribly burnt Mike in his rear view mirror. The film ends at the gutted room, with an apparition of Mike disappearing after being called away by the voice of his daughter.[citation needed]

Two other alternate endings will be included on the DVD release.[9]

In one, Mike does not survive the fire that engulfs the room. After the funeral, Sam has a brief chat with Lily before returning to his office. In his mail he finds a package addressed from Mike's P.O. box in California. To his disbelief, inside the package is a completed draft with "'1408' by Mike Enslin" typed on the cover sheet.

The second is nearly identical to the theatrical release, with the exception that Mike decides not to let Lily become aware of Katie's voice on the tape recorder.

joa....ich fand den film jetzt nicht sooo hammer. das es verschwendete zeit war kann ich aber auch nicht gerade behaupten. lol

das ende hat mich auch gestört. ich fand den film schon sehr verwirrend und da hätte ich zum schluß auch gerne noch ein paar antworten erhalten.
gruselig fand ich den film fast gar nicht. einige wenige szenen haben mich höchstens kurz erschrocken.
hmm...ich glaub ich hab mich am meisten geruselt als er zu anfang (wie schon gesagt) in zimmer 1408 das ganze zimmer durchcheckt und feststellt das sich alles im normalzustand befindet und einfach nur darin abkackt bis endlich was passiert
