Hey everyone,
I am proud to finally announce that our first official 1v1 ladder season for Command & Conquer 3 will begin this Monday, Sept 24th, beginning with a big ladder reset. We have decided to only reset your ladder stats for the time being. We did not want to impact your experience levels gained and such and for the ladder season, it is your ladder record which of course matters the most.
The top commander who wins the grand end of season tournament of the ladder season will win a cash- check for $5000 U.S dollars! That's right, 5000 big ones to go do whatever you want with. We are also partnering with Logitech for some sweet audio and hardware prizes as well as other cash prizes for runner-ups. There will also be prizes to be won during the regular season as well!
This ladder season is going to be open world-wide in up to 20 of our top countries where C&C 3 is played. I have no doubt 95% of those who play the game and visit our website and boards are eligible. Please be sure to hit up the legal rules when its posted Monday. It is with our best intent to make the ladder season open as world-wide as legally possible. We will continue to drive this world-wide.
The season will have a very basic and competitive structure as follows:
-The regular ladder season will last exactly for 3 months. It will end, conveniently on Christmas Eve, December 24th. By that time, we will have qualified 32 players for the end of season tournament, keep reading...
-At the end of each 4 week period, the top players on the ladder will qualify for the end of season grand tournament. There will be 3 qualifying periods during the season. It will work like this:
On these dates at the hour which we started the season, the following will qualify for the end of season tournament:
-Oct 24 - Top 1-8 ranked players on the 1v1 ladder qualify
-Nov 24 - Top 1-8 ranked players on the 1v1 ladder qualify
-Dec 24 - Top 1-16 ranked players on the 1v1 ladder qualify
*If the same player qualifies again, then the next sequential person up the 1v1 ladder will qualify. For example, if the #1 player held rank at the second qualifying period, then the #9 player on the ladder would then qualify for the end of season tournament.
*Once you qualify for the end of season tournament, you do not need to continue holding your rank on the ladder. You may stop playing and wait until the end of season tournament. If you wish to try and hold your rank, you will be eligible to win a cash prize for your efforts. Only a player who holds rank within the Top 8 during multiple qualifying periods will be eligible to win a cash prize.
*If you qualify twice, you will win a $250 cash prize. If you qualify in all three periods, you will win another $250 for a total possible of $500.
-At the end of the season, we will take the 32 players who qualified and have a grand championship tournament. The tournament will be a single-elimination bracket where you will need to win a "Best of 3" against your opponent on the specified maps we select for the tournament.
-The winner of the bracket tournament will be crowned the first "Tiberium Lord" of the Command & Conquer 3 League for our inaugural season.
That's it folks. We anticipate season 1 will have its champion by mid-January, we will then reset the ladder again shortly after and begin Season 2! We have a lot more planned as the season kicks off, including a new upcoming section on our official website dedicated to the league, and lots more fun.
I can promise you that we will be even more critical of cheaters and disconnectors during the ladder season and will be keeping a very extreme watchful eye. If you are caught purposely disconnecting or cheating once, you will be disqualified from the season. This is the time for every Command & Conqueror around the world to shine and fight for the glory to become the champion of our first ever ladder season for Command & Conquer 3, and winning a cool $5000 ain't so bad either...
Get ready to rumble on Monday, and be sure to see my other post for patch updates and all that. I'm sure that is on your mind. I hope you are looking forward to the opening of what should be a very competitive season.
Thanks,
APOC
