Wie ihr sicher alle wisst findet am nächsten Wochenende (23.-26.8.) die Games-Convention in Leipzig, SA, Germany statt.

Mit freundlicher Unterstützung des EA-Communityteams wird die UF-Administration (stellvertretend stefros und FiX) ihre Anwesenheit auf der Messe sicherstellen und auch die Möglichkeit haben ein ausführliches Interview mit Aaron "Apoc" Kaufman und einem der Haupt-Köpfe des Entwickler-Teams von Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars zu führen.

Hierfür wollen wir natürlich Fragen aus der Community verwenden und euch dann auch anschließend die Antworten hier präsentieren.

Da Apoc und der Entwickler aus Amerika kommen sprechen sie natürlich Englisch, es wäre von Vorteil wenn ihr die Fragen auf Englisch postet (sofern ihr es einigermaßen könnt), ihr könnt sie aber sonst auch auf Deutsch posten und wir werden uns dann um eine Übersetzung bemühen.

About tankmissing bug:
Are you aware of the missing Tankshells? You said you fixed it several patches before, but it became worse and plays a keyrole in the current balance problems.


About depth of gameplay and unit abilities:
Will all the units have more abilities in the Add-On? At the moment, Tiberium Wars lacks a bit at the depth of Gameplay, which is because not many different units are needed to win, and those units mostly have no abilities to use. And additionally there are too many all-round units, which knock out the rock-scissor-paper system.

kritische Fragen, dieses ich habe ea lieb piep piep Gesülze hört apoc wohl schon viel zu oft

mal ein paar erste Vorschläge:
- u said it will exist 2 sub fractions in the add-on, will this be similary like in zero hour or will u have the possibility to fight with air units, verhicles and infantry with one sub fraction?
- will u have to choose in the addon only between the 6 sub ractions or will u have to choose between gdi, nod, scrin and 2 sub fractions for each party (6 fractions)
- can u give an example for a possible sub fraction and tell us something about advantages and disadvantages
- why are the multiplayer maps, especially the 2vs2 maps, as small as they are? whay doesnt exist a map whioch is as big as the tiberian sun maps were
- do u think really that we believe that ea has the will to release patches early, dfo u think we believe u what u say that u can release the patches as late as possible
- why did u create as many units who are very good against very many battle unit sorts, e.g. the pitbull against stealth units, air units, vehicles and infantry after mortair upgrade - or e.g. the seeker, which is good against verhicles, air units and stealth units
- why does tiberium wars need any defense tower (I would prefer a game in which u have no defense towers) think tiberium wars would need defense towers, why are they as strong???
- do u know that in multiplayer games of pro gamers only a few units become mass spammed, that even here the build prder and even luck is very important, because u can scout many things to late to react? whats ur opinion about this fact?

And just to say he was destroyed is not very convincing, when u regard the ending of the Tiberian Sun Add-On Firestorm. Or will he even play a role in the Add-On and has own units?

About the Subfactions:
Can you explain us, how the subfactions work? Will each subfaction have its special weakness and strength, so that the overall techtree and the units of the mainsides are influenced (comparable to Zero Hour)? Or can we imagine that like the subhouses in Emperor: Battle for Dune or the different countries in Red Alert 2, so that each subfaction only adds more units to the mainside but doesn't touch the overall gameplay of the mainsides? Will you choose the subfaction before the game starts (danger of ongoin army switching) or will you choose it after the game started, like teching up in one direction?

About the World Domination Mode:
Can you explain how the Domination Mode works? Is it one single game where every player can take part in, like in the Domination Mode in Tiberian Sun? Or is it a smaller game mode for few players like in Battle for Middleearth 2? Are there special features included in that mode?

  • What about arranged team automatch?
  • Are there any plans in a "d/c-proof" online system for the addon?

Mehr fällt mir grad nicht ein.

Apoc stated earlier that EA couldn't get Frank Klepacki back but that the new music team will adapt his style. The current music of Tiberium Wars really doesn't sound like the music of the old tiberium titles and is in some way soulless, because it's more in the background so that you don't really notice it during gameplay. Will the Add-On feature more impulsive and faster "foreground" music comparable to the old style?

Tiberian Sun featured arctic climate, means snow and ice. Sadly there isn't something like that in Tiberium Wars, but Mapmakers really would appreciate more possibilities with snow textures and snow falling and so on. Is that going to happen with the Add-On?

Do you know the anti-cheat tool Aceton? What do you think about it? Why don't you support it?

Ich nehme an das er Aceton kennt, von daher direkt die Frage:

Warum unterstützt man dieses Team nicht? Sie arbeiten garantiert für einen Bruchteil des Geldes was ein normaler Programmierer bekommt und würden TW dafür Cheatfrei halten?!

Bitte mal richtig übersetzen bevor ich mir einen abbreche^^
 
Hab mal all meine Fragen korrigiert was Rechtschreibfehler usw. anbelangt :D Hab auch die Frage hinzugefügt, warum man aceton nicht supportet ;)
 
What about Spiderbases? Even with buildings, that give no buildrange any more (Powerplants,...) towering through the maps is possible and on some maps even usual (f.e.: Pipeline Problems, Redzone Rampage,...). After the crane lost his ability to build defenses, dont you think that towerers will benefit from this factor? Because a towerer will build a second MCV in his warfactory so he can still spam from 2 defenceslots. While a normal player doesnt build a second MCV and has only one defenceslot, to slow down a towerer, which is still able to build 2 sonic emitters...

Why doesnt EA totally remove the cranes and multiple buildslots? With only one possible buildslot it never has been necessary to change so many things in the game...
 
-have u planed to release more than 2 more patches for the normal tiberium wars?
u never talked about 1.9, only 1.7 and 1.8.
-do u think it is okay to release 6 patches in 5 months, with a community which has/had so many players? have u ever thought about the problem, if u release so less patches the people dont want to buy add ons so it is in ur interessts to release patches?

U surely know about the problem with the tier3 towers, are you thinking about making them a little bit weaker? Many people think that Towers should not be a standalone defense that can knock out whole armies alone, basecrawling is still one of the most efficient and also most boring tactics in cnc3.

What about the ladder improvements that have been mentioned by one of our members on your official forums? (screenshot)

Are you aware of the buildradius bugs? The internal updating of the buildradius of the game-engine seems to have some delays, for example, when a surveyor gets destroyed, even before he finished to unpack, u can still build there for about 2 or 3 seconds.

What about arranged team automatch?

Some people claim that it would be better to allow ranked games only for automatch play (we made a poll and it were actually more than 50%), to prevent dodging, pushing and one-mapping, what do you think about that?

Are there any plans for a system that is actually able to prove who disconnected?

What do you think about aceton-anticheat and do you have any plans of implementing it into the game?

What about the 1.08 Economy changes, will they be drastic enough, so one harvload isn't enough to buy a new refinery? Hence makeing eco-boom weaker.

Right now you can crawl buildings faster than you are able to kill them with Units (killing a ref or a warfac takes years). Are you considering a health nerf, or a damage vs structure bonus for example rpg type weapons?
