8-8-06 (7:35AM EDT)---- "Extra Large" Evangelion Scoop In October Newtype
According to information published in the just released September, 2006 Japanese edition of Newtype Magazine, 10 years from the original series telecast their October issue will include an "extra large" scoop on Neon Genesis Evangelion. No details are given but in a teaser preview they ask readers the question "What starts happening?", and invites them to pick the next issue to find out.

8-7-06 (7:04AM EDT)---- New Evangelion Anime Movie(s) Coming?
One of the biggest rumors running this summer among Japanese fans online involves Studio GAINAX, presumably under the aegis of Director Hideaki Anno, re-editing and adding new animation footage to the original 1995 26 episode Evangelion TV series (ala Gundam Zeta) and releasing them as a series of new movies to Japanese theaters. So the story goes, as many as 4 movies could be produced and the 4th one may be entirely new material or may contain an entirely new ending to the Evangelion saga. A side rumor from a few months ago indicates a staff room for Evangelion was being created or renovated at GAINAX HQ. This questionable information started circulating prior to the below mentioned GAINAX search launched, looking for production and animation staff for a forthcoming Hideaki Anno directed animated film project codenamed "Color" (Khara). Those who meet the criteria are encouraged to email to joboffer(AT)khara.co.jp or call. What can be confirmed now as fact is Evangelion and project "Color" are connected and the proof can be found on GAINAX's official EVA website. At the bottom of the page, the copyright statement has added "color" (in katakana) to the Project Eva copyright information. Other twists include the following: A whois search for the domain khara.co.jp reveals it is registered to Khara Corporation. The name Todoroki Ikki is listed as registration and tech contact. It's worth noting Anno Hideaki appeared in the movies Taste of Tea and Naisu No Mori with Todoroki Ikki. Additionally, a search on GAINAX's company overview page shows the Director's name is no longer present. This is leading many to speculate "Color / Khara" could be a spinoff studio perhaps similar to Hideo Kojima's production label "Kojima Productions" or Hayao Miyazaki's private office "Ni Bariki".

Ist das Sommerloch immer noch nicht vorüber? Ich glaube nicht so recht dran, der ideale Zeitpunkt für eine neue NGE-Variante wäre letztes Jahr zum 10-jährigen Jubiläum gewesen. Ich vermute mal, dass das, ähnlich wie der angebliche neue Kinofilm vor ein paar Jahren, ein Gerücht bleibt.

Andererseits...es gab ja schon eine erweiterte Version (für Laserdisc) und "The End of Evangelion" war vermutlich auch nicht von Anfang an eingeplant. Mal sehen was kommt... Was ist eigentlich aus dem Realfilm geworden? Wurde der wegen ADV's Finanznöte gecancelt?

Der Realfilm befindet sich glaub noch immer in der Entwicklung, allerdings haben andere Projekte vorrang Oo

Zumindest wurden vor 4 Monaten oder so ein paar neue Konzeptbilder und ne Crew-List rausgegeben.

Und es soll ein Dreiteiler werden der sich ziemlich an die Serie halten wird.

Ich gaub nit dran und wenn der doch irgendwann mal rauskommt isa bestimmt Mist


Neue Filme ? Überarbeiten und neues Material rein ? Alternatives Ende ?

Also ich weiß nit... hört sich ziemlich beschissen an -.-

NGE + EoE reichen. Da gibts ein Ende und gut ist. Warum jetzt nen alternatives ? War den Fans die "brutale" Sichtweise des Endes in NGE zu heftig ?

ka... NGE scheint bald wie Star Wars zu werden, hauptsache Geld Geld Geld -.-

New Evangelion Movies

According to the October issue of Newtype (Japan) (On sale September 10), four new Evangelion movies are in the works. The four movies will include a prequel, a mid-series movie, a sequel and a "final" movie. The prequel movie is due out early summer 2007.

While the new story will be set during the same time frame as the original TV series, Newtype states that it will be an entirely new project, not be a remake or improvement of any sort. Newtype also mentions that viewers will not need to have already seen previous Evangelion material in order to understand and enjoy the new movies.

Hideaki Anno will write the scenario for the first movie and will be the general director and manager for the entire project. Kazuya Tsurumaki will direct the movies while Yoshiyuki Sadamoto will provide character designs and Ikuto Yamashita will provide mechanical designs. Shinji Higuchi will provide storyboards for the first movie.

Khara, a new studio that shares office space with Gainax, was recently set up and is seeking production staff to work on Anno's new project.

9-8-06 (7:43PM EDT)---- New Evengelion Movies: Will Original Voice Cast Be Reprised?
With 4 new animated Evangelion movies now confirmed and in production there has been some questioning regarding the Japanese voice casting. All of the main original members of the TV and Movie cast are still living but some have retired or moved away from voice acting work. Megumi Hayashibara (Rei Ayanami) had retired for a period but then returned to seiyuu work. Likewise, Yuko Miyamura (Asuka Langely Sohryu) is thought to have put some distance between herself and voiceover work. A comment from one of her her last known public appearances can be viewed at her official website at the above link mentioning paid travelling expenses would be a requirement to persue any further vocal work.

9-8-06 (7:22PM EDT)---- Update: Evangelion Shin Gekijou Ban
A few new details regarding the new Eva project, Evangelion Shin Gekijou Ban from the October, 2006 Japanese edition of Newtype Magazine:
- The cover illustration featuring characters Ayanami Rei Nagisa Kaworu is by Shunji Suzuki. Suzuki had worked on the Shin Seiki Evangelion TV series as chief animator and on the End Of Evangelion movie as an animation director. Although not officially connected by name to the new project as yet, his image appearing on the Newtype cover would suggest involvement.
- Images released so far depict Rei Ayanami in observably more provacative and animated moods than before. How will she change? The silent and submissively naturered character with her trademark blue hair and style made her an all time fan favorite of otaku everywhere, catapulting her to the top of the monthly Animage character poll for many, many issues.
- From Toshimichi Ohtsuki's interview: Just before this new project started up director Hideaki Anno rewatched the entire original television series back to back. Ohtsuki relays that he heard Anno say for the first time: "Eva is interesting, I did not think it was so interesting (laughing)." The comment almost broght Ohtsuki to tears.
- Ohtsuki goes on to say that it is true Eva has become a smash hit animation. However, it's success caused misunderstanding and disarray has arisen in the animation field because of it. An overproduction of inferrior works was caused.
- Ohtsuki says the Newtype cover image featuring Rei and Kaworu symbolizes the new movie project. Japanese fans have questioned whether this is a hint at Rei And Kaworu's possibly being at the center of the new story or getting expanded focus in the course of the story of the films.

9-8-06 (6:23PM EDT)---- Newtype: REBUILD OF EVANGELION Commercials
Kadokawa Shoten has posted 2 Quicktime radio commercials (although as yet not the video commercial, the screenshots of which went worldwide) for the October, 2006 Japanese edition of Newtype Magazine. The spots are narrated by seiyuu Noriko Kuwajima. The magazine, which features an exclusive on 4 upcoming Evangelion movies was released in Japan today, Saturday, September 9th.

Durch einen Freund bin ich in Kontakt mit der Serie und den einen film da gekommen. Das Ende vom Film (und eigentlich von NGE oder?) kapiere ich nach 10 Mal anschauen nicht .

Seit ein paar Tagen kursieren 2 Trailer zu Rebuild of Evangelion im Netz/Bittorrent-Trackern. Die Filme scheinen sich nah an der Vorlage zu halten, wurden aber visuell auf den aktuellen Stand gebracht. Ich bin mal gespannt ob man die Serie in akzeptabler Form auf nur 4 Filme komprimieren kann.

Mit Links zu den Trailern ist das so eine Sache. Es sind bisher eigentlich alles inoffizielle Veröffentlichungen, damit wäre das Verlinken gegen die Forumsregeln. Bei Youtube oder Isohunt dürftest du aber vermutlich fündig werden, wenn du dort nach "rebuild" und "evangelion" suchst.

Normalerweise ist das mit dem Posten von Youtube-Videos so ein Sache, im Prinzip gilt dafür das Gleiche wie für das Posten von Downloadlinks (siehe Regeln des MMF). Da ich die Schriftzeichen am Anfang des Videos nicht entziffern kann, heutzutage auch schon diverse Trailer offiziell bei Youtube gepostet werden und es vom Stil her auch wie einer aussieht, gehe ich jetzt mal davon aus, dass es auch ein Video dieser Sorte ist. Normale AMVs posten wäre schon gegen die Regeln, also bitte vorsichtig sein mit der Auswahl der zu postenden Videos. Das UF hat mit etwas Ähnlichem schon einmal schlechte Erfahrungen mit einer Anwaltskanzlei gemacht.

Die Animationen scheinen bei dem Remake auf jeden Fall schon einmal ordentlich aufpoliert worden zu sein, ohne dass man sich allzu sehr vom Stil der Vorlage entfernt hat. Ich hoffe mal, dass der Inhalt genauso viel hermachen wird.

Bin über NGE 1.01 gestolpert, das waren irgendwie die ersten 6 episoden der Serie als Film!? die Änderungen sind imho minimal oder es ist zu lange her dass ich nge gesehen hab
